Andy Chyba candidate for 'leadership' wales section green party

Andy Chyba Nov 2014

I have apologised repeatedly for my poor choice of words re the welsh language. Apologising is something that Pippa never does of her own volition, despite offending many both within and outside of the party with her far-from ecosocialist views on many topics. Ask any member of Green Left their views on her politics.
She has been booed off the stage at national conference for offending most party members, censured by a near unanimous conference vote for not submitting reports, forced to apologise in the media for ridiculous and misleading polling claims (and subsequently spun the same untruths to members) and managed to alienate a whole segment of the electorate by labelling the whole of the older generation racist in the Western Mail.
Do not be fooled into thinking she has been in any way responsible for the upsurge in membership. I would warrant that she has been responsible for far more members lost (many to Plaid Cymru) than she has gained over the last three years, including several very senior and experienced members I know well and sorely miss.
As for Plaid Cymru, it is I that have been responsible for building bridges in that direction and with whom their leadership would be far happier working. My stance on the Euro election was driven by my commitment to ecosocialist ideals ahead of my party. It would have been a massive tragedy for the movement in Wales, and the people of Wales, if Jill Evans had lost her seat, especially given that it could almost as easily have gone to a second UKIP MEP than a second Labour one. It was a stance that has been welcomed by senior members of GPEW and the European Green Party (to have lost Jill, while gaining Molly Scott Cato would have left the Green/EFA delegation from the UK unchanged instead of gaining one). It also leaves me in a much stronger and more respected bargaining position with PC than Pippa.
Over the coming weeks I will be laying out my vision for taking the Green Party forward (follow via the bridgendgreens.net blog) by developing and empowering local parties and activists and ensuring our embarrassing duck at County Council level is well and truly broken. I have the support of people with proven track records of success to help us with this - as neither me or Pippa have had any electoral success ourselves. I will ensure that this leadership and guidance extends to the whole of Wales.
Pippa has a maximum of two more years at the helm under the party constitution. She cannot lead us into the vital local authority elections in 2017. Given the upsurge in new members this year, I believe it is vital that they have a say in the image, philosophy and integrity with the party operates and is portrayed. The choice is stark one.

Max Wallis Was Campaign officer and newletter editor until Pippa didnt approve!

Our values are green" says the blog blurb.   Greens are strongly opposed to censorship, yet Pippa is into expulsion of fellow GP members for disclosing her (murky) past pippabartolotti.info  That past in electronics business included supplying military contracts in Wales, including AB Electronics and Thales.  Perhaps Encrypta’s electronic locking devices were not central to the killing function, but surely you should appraise Barttolotti’s refusal to admit and regret past business and profits from arms manufacture?  Is integrity not part of green values and red politics?
